Who can edit my project?
The owner and people added to that project can edit it. Adding a person as a CoBlocks friend alone does not give them project access. Scratch’s Share button publishes a project; it is separate from CoBlocks collaboration.
Add or remove an editor
- Open the project and click CoBlocks to open Collaboration.
- As owner, enter a Scratch username under Add a collaborator and click the matching result. They must have signed in to CoBlocks first.
- To remove someone, use the remove control beside their name and confirm.
More detail & reference
Add someone by Scratch username
The person must have signed in to CoBlocks on your server before direct sharing succeeds. Check the displayed username before selecting it.
- Activate CoBlocks on your project and open its Collaboration panel.
- In Add a collaborator, enter the person’s exact Scratch username.
- Wait for the result, then click the matching account to add it.
- Have the recipient add you to their popup friends list and open View Projects, or send an invite link instead.
Owner and collaborator permissions
| Action | Who can do it |
|---|---|
| Edit, join project chat, and use the shared backpack | Project owner and authorized collaborators. |
| Add or remove collaborators | Project owner, enforced by the backend. |
| Create or revoke an invite link | Project owner, enforced by the backend. |
| Remove a backpack item | Project owner or the person who shared that script. |
Remove a collaborator
Removing access is separate from revoking an invite. If a removed person still has a valid invite link, revoke that link too. Removing access cannot erase copies they already saved or downloaded.
- Open CoBlocks → Collaboration → Project access.
- Find the username, use its remove control, and confirm.
- Use Refresh to recheck the access list.
Public sharing is independent
Scratch’s Share button publishes a Scratch project. A CoBlocks invitation grants editing access to the collaboration; it does not publish the project. Invite links can be used for unshared projects.
Treat collaborators as editors you trust with the project contents. Keep private information out of projects, chats, and invite links.
Leave or unlink
The editor’s Collaboration panel contains Unlink project. Scratch My Stuff also exposes Leave / Unlink controls for CoBlocks entries. These actions affect the connection to CoBlocks; they are not Scratch’s project-delete control.
Unlinking a Scratch copy can stop collaborators accessing that copy. Back up work first and read the confirmation. Removing an owner can cause backend ownership to pass to a remaining collaborator; do not use Leave as a casual way to transfer ownership.
