How do I find what changed?
Check the version in the extension popup and open GitHub Releases for changes and downloads. CoBlocks may also show a release notice on Scratch after updating.
How to update
- Store install: the browser manages updates. Store releases may arrive later than GitHub packages.
- Unpacked install: save work, replace the extracted package, reload the extension, and refresh Scratch.
- Temporary Firefox install: load the new manifest through about:debugging. Load it again after restarting Firefox.
More detail & reference
Release notes
CoBlocks builds on LiveScratch. Features include invite links, live collaborator pointers, join/leave/message activity notifications, Firefox support, and release previews on Scratch.
The release also includes 30-day authentication tokens, one active session per account, account matching, improved local recovery, refreshed collaboration controls, and light/dark popup and workspace styling.
Update announcements on Scratch
After the extension is updated, CoBlocks can display a version notice on Scratch with a release title, preview, and links to release notes or all releases. Dismiss it with its close control.
The preview is fetched from GitHub’s latest release and can differ from the version just installed. Read both version labels. If fetching fails, the notice falls back to a release link rather than proving the latest package is installed.
How to update your installation
| Distribution | Update method |
|---|---|
| Browser store | Your browser manages store updates. Verify the installed version in the popup; store availability may lag a GitHub release. |
| Unpacked Chromium | Save work, replace the extracted extension folder with the new package, reload it on the extensions page, and refresh Scratch. |
| Temporary Firefox | Save work, load the new package’s manifest through about:debugging, allow site access, and refresh Scratch. Reload it again after a browser restart. |
How this wiki is maintained
The guides were checked against latest release notes and extension/backend source on 18 October 2026. Source references are provided on each guide. Local development can contain newer changes that are not in a published package.
The wiki does not claim future features or assume every browser store has the same version. Use the release notes and installed version when reporting differences.
